What You'll Learn
-
This is the space to move beyond simply learning about Yoga Practice and begin exploring what it means to live it. We’ll journey through the origins and deeper meaning of Yoga, how the practice has evolved from East to West, and the philosophy at the heart of Hatha Yoga. We’ll explore the Koshas and subtle body, including prana, energy and the chakras, while creating space for self enquiry, contemplation and meaningful discussion. You’ll also be introduced to the different paths of Yoga Practice, allowing you to understand why they exist and begin to discover which teachings, practices and perspectives resonate most deeply with you.
-
Each morning begins with two hours of space to return to yourself through personal practice. Across the training, these mornings alternate between traditional Hatha, creative Vinyasa and more embodied approaches to asama, allowing you to experience a wide spectrum of practices and ways into the body. We share both the roots and the evolution so you can understand the foundations these practices come from while also experiencing how they have developed, giving you space to explore what resonates, what opens something within you, and what supports your own journey towards the state of union we call Yoga. Each practice includes Mantra, Asana & Pranayama
-
We begin with the foundations of teaching, starting with a more traditional approach to Hatha asanas so you can build confidence from the very beginning. You’ll learn how to move with the breath, understand simple sequencing principles and communicate clearly before gradually layering in more advanced cueing techniques, creative Vinyasa sequencing and different approaches to building and sharing classes. The methodology is designed to meet different ways of learning and thinking, helping you discover how you best understand, organise and communicate what you want to teach. Throughout the course there are regular opportunities to practise teaching, experiment, receive feedback and grow, leading towards delivering a full 60 minute class at the end of the training.
-
Our anatomy module is designed to deepen your relationship with the physical body and the lived experience within it. You’ll explore the foundations of the body’s different systems so that when you guide people through breath, movement and sensation, you have a clearer understanding of what is actually happening beneath the surface. We’ll also look at body diversity, common injuries, contraindications and the importance of adapting practices to the individual in front of you rather than teaching from a one size fits all approach. Rather than treating anatomy as separate from philosophy, we begin to weave the two together, exploring the body as both structure and experience and looking at ideas such as the microcosm and macrocosm through a more anatomical lens. The intention is not simply to memorise the body, but to understand it, feel it and build a more embodied and responsible relationship with what you are teaching.
-
This is a space to deepen your relationship with the subtler practices and understand how to approach them with greater intention, context and care. We’ll explore the origins and purpose of mantra, why chanting is used and how sound can become part of practice. You’ll also develop a deeper understanding of Pranayama beyond simply working with the breath, exploring its relationship with prana and the subtle body, before moving into Dharana and Dhyana and unpacking the relationship between mindfulness, concentration and meditation. We’ll explore what each of these practices offers, when they may be appropriate, and how one can become a bridge into the next.
-
In this section we’ll learn how to deconstruct asanas across different posture families, exploring both classical approaches and more evolved expressions so you can understand the roots while also seeing how with time we have learnt to appreciate body diversity. . Along the way, we’ll weave in the stories and mythology behind certain asanas and explore the balance between effort and ease within the body. You’ll also learn how to offer assists and adjustments in a way that feels natural to you as a teacher, with a strong focus on consent, trust and creating an environment where students feel supported, respected and safe in your approach if you choose to offer assists or adjusts in the future.
-
Teaching practice is about learning to share far more than asana. Throughout the training, you’ll have lots of opportunity to practise guiding asana classes, Pranayama, mindfulness techniques and philosophy, building confidence across the full spectrum of what you may go on to teach. For us, this is essential, because without philosophy the physical practice can so easily become movement alone. You’ll have space to explore the teachings, live with them, question them and gradually learn how to alchemise ancient wisdom into something that feels meaningful, embodied and natural for you to share with future students.
-
Sanskrit is a deeply important part of the training because the words themselves carry far more than a simple label. They hold layers of meaning, philosophy and sound that can open a deeper doorway into the teachings. As we learn how to break Sanskrit words down, we begin to uncover the roots, symbolism and wisdom held within them, helping us understand the teachings with more depth and context. We also approach Sanskrit through the lens of cultural appreciation, honouring where the language comes from and the traditions it belongs to. Throughout the course, you’ll gradually build confidence in recognising, understanding and teaching with Sanskrit in a way that feels grounded, respectful and connected to its origins.
The Journey
Over 22 transformative training days, you’ll journey through yoga from its roots to its modern evolution. An immersion into philosophy, Sanskrit, ritual, subtle body, breath, mantra, Hatha, Vinyasa, sequencing, anatomy, teaching methodology and the art of holding space.
You’ll begin by grounding into the origins, history and purpose of yoga, before learning how these teachings evolve into embodied, creative and meaningful classes for today’s world. Through practice, study, teaching, reflection and mentorship, you’ll grow not only as a yoga teacher, but as a more confident, connected and inspired human being in your personal life.
This is a training for the curious soul, the one who feels called to understand or share it with depth, integrity and heart.
